Our Purpose (宗旨在於) The Flying Tiger Kung-fu Association™ (美國黑帝功夫學會) exists to preserve, protect, and propagate the authentic, pre-Republic system of Wǔ(Hǎo) Tàijíquán (武氏太極拳). Unlike modern, commercialized variations of Tàijí that prioritize simplified health dance movements, our association is dedicated to maintaining the complete internal mechanics, traditional text alignments, and profound martial applications of the art as it was passed down through the late Qīng Dynasty. Our Vision (遠景) To serve as a traditional sanctuary for genuine internal cultivation, mental stillness, and responsive clarity. We do not seek mass enrollment or commercial expansion. Our vision is to cultivate high-caliber practitioners who carry forward the rare, closed-door teachings of our lineage teachers—including 6th Generation Master Ang Lip Lin (洪麗萍) and 7th Generation Master Hǎo Shǒuběn (郝守本)—ensuring this cultural and martial treasure survives intact for generations to come. Our Mission (使命) Our mission is to provide an uncompromising training environment for hand-picked students who demonstrate the character, discipline, and dedication required to absorb traditional internal kung-fu. Through strict adherence to classical, quiet-mind training methodologies, we bridge the gap between historical martial tradition and modern personal development. Core Values (核心價值)
  • Lineage Integrity (傳承正宗): We strictly guard the authentic principles and internal alignments of the Wǔ(Hǎo) system, refusing to dilute or alter the curriculum for convenience, fast-track progress, or commercial appeal.
  • Redirection and Reflection (以靜制動): We adhere strictly to the classical axiom: "If my opponent doesn't move, then I don't move. If my opponent moves, then I move first." Our practice centers on listening sensitivity, active relaxation, and instantaneous responsiveness rather than meeting force with force.
  • Traditional Character (武德 — Martial Virtue): We place martial virtue far above physical skill. Humility, perseverance, respect, and absolute mental discipline are mandatory requirements for membership in our training hall.
  • Selective Admission (寧缺毋濫 — Rather Empty Than Lax): In absolute alignment with the historical practice of the last 100 years of the Qīng Dynasty, we prioritize quality over quantity. Admission is a strict privilege granted only to those who successfully pass our screening process and possess the patience and dedication required to engage with our classical foundation year.
